Jyothirmayi Biography
Jyothirmayi Nishanth is an actress who has acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and English films.
JYOTHI
Jyothirmayi was born in Kottayam in Kerala. She lives in Kochi now. She did her schooling from Mata Nagar School and St. Mary's School, and later for her pre-degree, Jyothi joined Maharaja's College. She did a course in Public Relations and Journalism from the Kerala Press Academy.
She married Nishanth who was her classmate in school.
CAREER
She started her career as an anchor on television shows aired on Citi channel and later Asianet. Jyothi acted in a serial named Indraneelam and later made her debut in Pilots where she played a sister's role. She came into the limelight only after Meesha Madhavan. Jyothi got opportunities to act opposite superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal.
In 2002 she won the Kerala State Award for Best Second Actress and a National Film Award for her performance in the film Bhavam. Mita Vasisht and Murali Menon appeared with her in this film. The actress recently appeared in Kerala Cafe (2009) by Lal Jose and Shaji Kailas. The film has ten short stories which talks about the incidents taking place in a Kerala cafe.
