Relative petitions from�our California Service Center to our Texas
Service Center. We anticipated that this redistribution�of work would
result in more timely adjudication of these petitions. Due to a number

On Feb. 7, 2011, we implemented a rapid response plan to expedite the
adjudication of these�petitions. We have transferred a large number of
these Immediate Relative petitions back to our�California Service
Center to take advantage of resources currently available to
immediately�process these cases. Petitioners will see an action such
as an approval, denial or a Request for�Evidence (RFE) on their case
from our California or Texas Service Centers by the end of�February.
Additionally, we have briefed the Department of State’s National Visa
Center about�these cases.
We encourage you to monitor the progress of your case by accessing My
Case Status online. If�you do not see any action on your case, such as

If you are already in US, you don't need DS-230, you need to file I-485 instead.
I-130 is an alien relative petition filed by your spouse on your behalf. I-130 has a question if you want to "adjust status while in the U.S." or go through "consular processing at an American post abroad".
If you plan to "adjust your status while in the U.S." you use form I-485. I-130/I-485 can be filed and adjudicated concurrently.
If you want to enter the U.S. as an immigrant ("consular processing" you file form DS-230 Part I with the National Visa Center and later DS-230 Part II with a consular officer at a consulate/embassy outside of the U.S.

Hi Guys,
I don't know if this is already posted... Here is my situation...
I had applied for 485 in July with Future Employer in EB3.
After 6 months, I want to port the application to my existing employer. At that time, is it possible to convert the application from EB3 to EB2 using AC21 portability??
Any help is appreciated!!!

Mine got approved exactly 2 months and a week. The lawyer sent me a copy of I-140 that was sent to USCIS and that covered my Labor certification also.

Hello All,
For the Visitors Visa(for parents), can a photocopy of Pay-check's be sufficient. Since the last few pay-rolls, my employer is giving everybody a photocopy of the Pay-check from Pay-chex Inc.To reduce costs of printing and mailing the Pay-checks, My employer is asking Pay-chex Inc to email the Bi-weekly pay-rolls of everybody.
Wondering if the US Embassy in India would create an issue by not bringing the original Pay-stubs.

First of all, congrats to everyone in the final stages of this tedious and frustrating process.
I have a question for people who filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently and got their receipt numbers.
I have gotten receipt numbers for my concurrently filed I-485 and I-765 as I paid for them (PD April 2003, I-140/I-485 filed at NSC). I do not have receipt for I-140 after more than 2 weeks. My employer is not giving me receipt number for I-140 as he may be wanting more money from me. Now, I have read in a forum that I-140 when applied concurrently should have receipt number very close to I-485 receipt number and normally I-140 receipt number is less than I-485 receipt number (i.e. if I-485's last four digits are 4600 then last 4 for I-140 number will be lower than 4600 and close to it. So, in theory I can scan numbers prior to mine and find closer ones for the same date and track them.
If you can please check your numbers and tell me if your I-140 number is before your I-485 number and how close they are to each other, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Guys,
My wife is on H4 and she got her EAD yesterday. She wants to work on EAD.
She doesnt have valid visa in her passport, we are planning for India trip soon and also planning to go to US embassy for stamping as our visa got expired.
My questions are
1. Can my wife apply for a visa after she starts using EAD? and later can she extend her H4 along with my H1 extension which I'm going to apply mid next year?
2.Is it ok to travel just on AP for her if she doesnt want to apply visa?
Please suggest.
