Passage of Immigration reform in the senate was not at all a problem, they have passed it more then once before. It is the house that rejected all of them. No wonder pelosi dosn't want any of it :), but again she is a strong women who passed health care reform... There is more probablity of this thing going through if the house passed the resolution first, just like the other legislation.

The option you suggested is best I know but what if I can not do so. (Option of going to canada and then taking up new job on EAD)

I know one can do a re instatment of h1b as long as the h1b is VALID. For example if an applicant's h1b expires in SEP 2011 and he/she joins a co. on EAD today 10th April 2008 but then gets fired on April 15 2009 or his/her GC is denied for w/e reason then he/she can go file for reinstatment of h1b but will have to leave USA and get stamping of h1b from Canda/mexico/home country........
Any other options.........?

Thanks for responding. What happens when we get a RFE or NOID. Could we respond by ourself then? My case is not complicated at all. As straight forward as it could get.
I am going to search in this forum for sample covering letter. But if anybody has the info handy please let me know.

RFE and NOID come with a color sheet of paper with your details and some USCIS internal codes for your case. You can respond by yourself and put the sheet on top - this is for the mailroom to handle your case

When My immigration came through, my family and I all flew down by air, stamped ourselves as Landed Immigrants and then came back to states.
You will have to give somebody's address at the airport and also apply for your PR card before you come back to states. Once you get your PR card then you are free to travel even by road passing the border post otherwise without the PR card you will have to apply for a visa every time you go to Canada. The PR card will be posted to the that somebody's house so that person can post it to the US. I am a landed immigrant since Feb 2005 but still live in states.
To maintain the PR status you have to be the country for 2 years.

went for infopass for correcting wife's DOB. Officer said it cannot be corrected here. After some protest, he took photocopies of birth certificate and passport and then sent e-mail to service center. Also, enquired about her EAD which is now pending for 110 days. Officer was not able to say why it is pending. just have to wait.
My wife went for her biometrics today and what a surprise, her date of birth on the system was wrong.
She only had DL on her and no passport. So, the ASC staff took her biometrics but refused to correct her DOB, claiming that passport was needed.
So, we called up USCIS and upon description of the problem,were immediately transferred to level 2. Level 2 looked at the cases and confirmed that DOB was wrong on I-485. It was correct in I-765 and I-131. She said that the only way to correct it was to take infopass and present passport and DL.
It is now more or less clear that DOB mismatch has caused her EAD to be stalled for so long.I have already got my EAD.
Moral of the story : take passport for FP, infopass, etc. all the time.

Can anyone suggest me a good health insurance policy for the state of TN? What are the things that are important and what should be ignored? Most of the time I dont understand the technical terms used in it.
Currently I have one from a big health insurance company bought on the internet. I thought I was covered well. Every year they are raising the premium by about $30.00/month. I want to get another one, if anyone has bought from the open market please let me know.

May be it is repeated and simple question, but some how critical to me.
Experts, Please help me in addressing this,
BackGround:
A. Currently working in Comp A and have both Labor & 140 cleared recently, 6year term of 1st H1 is valid till Oct 2009.
B. Parallel have applied 485 through company B (Labor & 140 cleared) on May 2008 thourgh TSC under EB2. Also got EAD for 2years, AP and Finger print complete.
C. I had successfully completed stamping once in canada. At that time i never had filed for labor from any company.
Questions:
1) Planning to go for H1 ext stamping in Canada through comp A which is valid till Nov 2009, mentioning YES & entering both Comp A & Comp B for Question 36 in DS 156 (has any one ever filed imigrant visa petition) would create further questions?
Please share your experiences if any and possible questions during interview.
2) Assuming successful stamping in canada , will there be any addition questions on the way back to USA in port of entry based on this 485 pending through Company B and H1 extended through Comp A?
3) Do volunterily mention about the 485 pending or officer might ask ?

I had the same experience. exactly the same message and then the day after it was showing delivered. You should be fine.
Yes. I sent my ead renewal app on friday to reach on saturday. On saturday, when I checked the status, it was exactly the status you have written. When I checked again this morning (Monday), it said the mail was accepted at 5.30 am this morning.
I find it hard to believe the mail was delivered to and was signed by someone at USCIS at 5.30 in the morning. So I think it is just a problem with USPS and the way they update status.

Mention clearly what is indicated in job requirements. If the labor did not allow for BS in any enggg or related engg and just asked for BS in CS your I-140 will be denied for sure. No need to wait for the denial. Why did your attorney filed a labor like that for you knowing you do not have BS in CS.

What is that thing called as interfiling ? I guess, you need to file an amendment saying that instead of using that labor, use this labor. Somebody explained this process in some other forum. Here is the link:

1. I have a valid AP till Jan. 04, 2009. I have applied for a new AP in Sept. last week. Can I travel on my current AP which is valid till Jan. 04, 2009 or will I have any problems with I-485, since I cannot travel on current AP, because I have applied for a new one.
2. Next, suppose I travel on my valid AP (the one till Jan. 04, 2009) in November first week and return on Dec. 10, 2008, what date will I get I-84 till? Will I get it till Dec. 09, 2009 or till Jan. 04, 2008. Ofcourse, the officer will stamp 'Parolee' on I-94, but till what date?
